Our Data Science team keeps expanding. A big welcome to our new Remote Sensing specialist Sake Alkema!
Practical field experience in the tropics confronted Sake with the many conflicts between forests and agriculture. This led him to pursue a double MSc in Forest and Nature Conservation and Geo-Information Science at Wageningen University, combining technology with nature.
At Satelligence Sake is able to contribute to the sustainable use of the environment, by using the newest technologies and developing methods to get a better grasp of the situation in the field. As a remote sensing specialist in our Data Science team he will help apply methods for creating quick and reliable alerts for changes in land use.
In his spare time he likes to explore new music and discover new locations while searching for geocaches.
