Deforestation of Ghana’s primary forests jumped to 60 percent between 2017 and 2018. Our analysis confirmed this, but also found that the main drivers of deforestation are illegal logging and mining, fire, and industrial agricultural expansion for other kinds of crops. Working on further verification and joint action with all stakeholders is necessary.
